Fakir Alamgir

Noted society artist Fakir Alamgir, who arose as Gono Sangeet (the tunes of the majority) artist for his extraordinary commitments to motivating individuals to join the country's 1971 Liberation War, died on Friday night. A 1971 Freedom Fighter, Fakir Alamgir was moved to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the clinic on July 15 subsequent to contracting Covid-19.He inhaled his last around 10:56 pm while going through therapy at Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Covid unit of the United Hospital in the city at 71 years old, concurring Alamgir's family sources. 

The unmistakable artist experienced a heart failure around 10pm at the Covid unit of the emergency clinic where he was going through treatment for Covid complexities while obligation specialist announced him dead at 10:56pm.

He is made due by his significant other and three children. 

Brought into the world in Faridpur, Fakir Alamgir began his music vocation in 1966 and assumed an indispensable part as an artist in 1969 uprising in the then East Pakistan. 

He worked with Swadhin Bangla Betar Kendra during the Liberation War and established the social association "Wrishiz Shilpi Gosthi" in 1976. He additionally filled in as the leader of Gono Sangeet Shamanya Parishad (GSSP). 

As an author, Alamgir distributed his first book 'Chena China' in 1984. His next two distributions were Muktijuddher Smriti Bijoyer Gaan and Gono Sangeeter Otit O Bortoman. 

In 2013, he distributed three books - Amar Kotha, Jara Achhen Hridoy Potey and Smriti Alaponey Muktijuddho. Up until now, Alamgir wrote nine books. 

The prominent vocalist was granted various honors, including Ekushey Padak, Bhashani Padak and Sequence Award of Honor.

Noted society artist and political dissident Fakir Alamgir has been covered at Taltola cemetery in the capital's Khilgaon. He was covered there after his second namaz-e-janaza was held at Khilgaon Matir Mosque premises at 1:50pm on Saturday.
